La séptima edición de las Fiestas Íbero Romanas de Cástulo habría arrancado hoy su amplia programación de actividades en Linares, para extenderse durante todo el fin de semana y hacer vibrar al público.
.
The seventh edition of the Cástulo Iberian Roman Festivities would have started its extensive program of activities in Linares today, to extend throughout the weekend and make the public vibrate. But the situation caused by the health emergency of the Covid-19 coronavirus will make it impossible to hold this massive tourist-cultural event of historical recreation.
Despite this, this outstanding event has been going on for several weeks on social networks, both through photographs and videos, but it can also be seen and enjoyed on many balconies in the city. Specifically, in all those corners of Lina where the commemorative banners that have been designed and printed for the occasion are already hanging.
The local reenactors of the Cástulo Festivities have been able to collect, in recent days, these balcony windows, some decorative elements that will serve to identify the three cultures to which the various participants of the games belong: Iberian, Roman and Carthaginian.
The young Linar entrepreneurs Juan Ernesto Cuenca, from Escándalo Creativo, and Alberto Olea and Mamen Vilches, from Serendipia Fotografos, were in charge of designing and printing the balconies, respectively, based on the idea of José Carlos Salido. For its part, the Department of Tourism and Commerce of the City of Linares gave shape to this project.
“Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to celebrate the Holidays as we would like due to this damn pandemic that is taking the lives of many Spaniards. I want to publicly thank the participants for their work, commitment and love of this historical reenactment. Likewise, I thank the Tourism team for the work carried out over the past months, which, although it will not be completed, has been carried out. In spite of everything, Linares will be impregnated with his Cástulo Fiestas on social networks, balconies and streets. The city will be covered by a mantle of Iberians, Romans and Carthaginians and the love for its history will be appreciated, ”said the mayor of Tourism, Enrique Mendoza.
